Imprivata Cortext
Care coordination platform
DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
CHALLENGE
Healthcare has become increasingly hard to coordinate, with medical staff relying on pagers and unsecured mobile communications – resulting in life-threatening delays for heart attack patients. Imprivata was challenged to build a cross-platform care coordination tool capable of life-saving efficiency, while meeting the stringent patient care requirements set out by HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act and the Joint Commission Core Measures Set.
Role
As director of product management for Imprivata Cortext, I had to ensure the product met institutional needs and regulatory requirements. This involved:
Team management and expansion: Leading and growing the team to meet project demands.
Product scope and definition: Expanding the product's capabilities based on client needs and regulatory requirements.
Client interaction: Constantly engaging with clients to gather feedback and understand their needs.
Clinical workflow observation: Closely observing clinical workflows and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure the product fit seamlessly into existing practices.
Regulatory compliance: Ensuring that the product adhered to HIPAA, Affordable Care Act standards, and the Joint Commission Core Measures Set.
Cross-platform development: Managing the development of Cortext for multiple platforms, including web, desktop, and mobile operating systems.
RESULTS
Tripled Cortext's gross product revenues in under a year to achieve 25% over best-case-scenario bookings estimate - without incurring additional costs.
Quadrupled hospital licenses in nine months.
Introduced product refinements that earned Imprivata Cortext the American Hospital Association's exclusive endorsement for the secure messaging category.
